Microsoft Authenticator - Adding Additional Devices

Microsoft Authenticator - Adding Additional Devices

Setting up Microsoft Authenticator on multiple devices is both recommended and beneficial for several reasons:
      1. Backup for Access: If your primary device is lost, stolen, or not functioning, having Microsoft Authenticator set up on another device ensures you can still access your accounts. This way you don't have to contact IT support to request that your 2FA preferences be reset.
      2. Convenience: Sometimes, you might not have your primary device handy, but need to authenticate a login. If you have multiple devices, such as a tablet or a secondary phone, having the app on these devices can make it more convenient to authenticate from wherever you are.
      3. Travel and Accessibility: When traveling, you might not always carry all your devices with you or might face issues with one (like battery drain, no network connectivity). Having a backup on another device can be a lifesaver in such situations.
      4. Ease of Transition: If you are switching to a new phone or tablet, having Microsoft Authenticator already set up on another device can make the transition smoother. You can easily transfer or set up credentials on the new device without being locked out of your accounts.
To add Microsoft Authenticator to additional devices, follow the instructions below.
